Sign the petition in solidarity with PepsiCo workers.
For weeks, Argentine PepsiCo workers have been fighting to get their jobs back after the multinational illegally closed the plant. The workers occupied the factory, only to get violently evicted last week. On Tuesday, the workers and their allies took to the streets– 30,000 strong- to demand the reopening of the PepsiCo plant and denounce the violent repression.
Now the fight continues, organized around a tent in front of the National Congress where the workers will organize their struggle, as well as a broader fight against austerity.
In the United States and the UK, over 500 people and organizations have signed a petition in solidarity with the workers.
Ken Loach, acclaimed British director, tweeted support for the PepsiCo workers.
Academics such as Cinzia Arruzza, Charlie Post, Michael Roberts, Ian Angus have also sent support.
The International Solidarity Commission of the IWW published a solidarity statement on their website.
The Rocky Hill, Connecticut Postal workers, the Greater Connecticut Local of the American Postal Workers Union, the Capital City Merged Branch Number 86 National Association of Letter Carriers and National Rural Letter Carriers Association also expressed solidarity.
The Shop Stewards Committee of the Hyatt Regency Greenwich took this picture in support as well.
Stewards, members and staff of SEIU 721 at the Los Angeles LGBT Center also sent a photo in solidarity.
CUNY Struggle, the Professional Staff Congress’ Solidarity Committee, The International Women’s Strike, Socialist Action and Red Bloom signed the petition in support.
DSA’s Los Angeles Sanctuary City Working Group and New York City Socialist Feminist working group sent photos of support, as did the Brooklyn Institute’s Social Reproduction class.
